The Journal & Courier's all-area boys basketball team is selected by coaches from Greater Lafayette's 10 Class 1A and 2A teams.

Senior, guard, Carroll

Numbers: 12.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.3 assists, 2.5 steals, 52% FG, 35% 3s, 67% FT

Season: Despite a head coaching change, the Cougars didn't miss a beat. Duff's scoring averaged dropped more than four points per game from the previous two seasons, but his assists increased significantly and he leaves Carroll as the program's all-time record holder in points and assists. Even though the scoring dipped, Duff still had five games with 20 or more points, including a season-high 22 in a sectional win over Seeger and 21 in the sectional championship victory over Clinton Prairie. After the season, Duff, an academic all-state honoree, was named to the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association's senior all-state team.

Junior, guard, Fountain Central

Numbers: 16.0 points, 3.6 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 3.0 steals, 40% 3s, 79% FT

Season: The 6-foot-3 point guard took the Mustangs to previously unforeseen heights. Fountain Central opened the season with seven straight victories on its way to a 23-5 overall record. The Mustangs won their first sectional championship in eight years and the first regional title in program history. Harmon received underclass small school all-state recognition from the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association.

Senior, guard, Frontier

Numbers: 21.5 points, 9.0 rebounds, 3.3 assists, 1.5 steals, 43% FG, 38% 3s, 75% FT

Season: After winning a sectional championship while playing for Blackford in 2020, Hoover came to Frontier and racked up 1,050 career points by the end of his career, becoming the first Frontier boys basketball player to reach the milestone since 1996. As a senior, Hoover had 13 double-doubles and an additional six games with seven or more rebounds. Hoover compiled highs of 37 points and 19 rebounds. Hoover received academic all-state honors to go with all-state honorable mention from the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association.

Sophomore, guard, Clinton Prairie

Numbers: 23.9 points, 4.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 2.7 steals, 55% FG, 38% 3s, 76% FT

Season: McGraw led the area in scoring in just his sophomore season, elevating Clinton Prairie's offense. After the Gophers struggled through January, McGraw led them on a 10-game winning streak that included a monumental victory over Central Catholic in the sectional, a game in which McGraw scored 13 points in the first half and 21 in the game. McGraw was named small school underclass all-state by the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association.

Senior, guard/forward, Carroll

Numbers: 13.9 points, 6.1 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.6 steals, 56% FG, 40% 3s, 69% FT

Season: After coming within one win of the Class 2A state championship game a year ago, Skinner helped propel the Cougars on another postseason run that included a sectional championship and a 22-5 overall record. Skinner capped his career with nearly 1,200 points after scoring 300 or more for the third straight season. He had a double-double in a win against Rossville and had an all-around 11 points, nine rebounds, six assists and two steals in a win over Clinton Central. The honorable mention senior all-state honoree also received academic all-state honors from the Indiana Basketball Coaches Association.

Evan Gagnon, junior, forward, North Newton

17.8 points, 9.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists, 1.8 steals, 1.5 blocks, 43% FG, 31% 3s, 56% FT

Chris Huerta, junior, guard, Carroll

15.0 points, 2.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists, 2.0 steals, 48% FG, 38% 3s, 71% FT

Abert Schwartz, junior, center, Central Catholic

13.6 points, 10.4 rebounds, 1.6 assists, 1.4 steals, 1.6 blocks, 55% FG, 49% FT

Owen Snedeker, senior, forward, Seeger

16.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.4 steals, 1.5 blocks, 59% FG, 23% 3s, 68% FT

Tanner Fields, senior, guard, Central Catholic
